The Federation Inspection Ship Avalon is an Aerie-class starship operating under the flag of the Federation Aerospace Authority. She was commissioned in 2355 and is one of three such vessels currently in service. Her two sister ships - FIS Arthur and FIS Excalibur - are assigned to Sector 002. Avalon has a crew complement of ten and two Starship Safety Inspectors aboard.
Avalon has a maximum cruise of Warp 5 and an emergency cruise of warp 8. If all the plugs are pulled, she can maintain warp 9.2 for six hours. The ship carries a single Type-6 shuttle, simply called Alpha. When not on patrol, the ship is docked at FAA Headquarters. This places her in Perth, Australia.

The Crew[]
The Senior Inspector aboard the Avalon is S. Winters. Nobody aboard the ship knows her first name. So the crew calls her Something Winters. Of course, nobody does so to her face. Not much is know about her history before she joined the FAA, other then that her mother was Orion and her father Vulcan.
Leading the crew is Captain Andrew Jones. Jones joined the crew in 2355 (as a pilot) and by 2370 had worked his way to XO. In 2374, the previous captain retired - Elli Zander - retired and Jones was promoted to CO. After he assumed command, Jones convinced his superiors in the FAA to retrofit all three ships with an Emergency Medical Hologram and an Emergency Holographic Nurse.
